Disclaimer for Laser Engraving Customer-Supplied Items
At Adelaide Laser Engraving, we take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship. However, certain factors beyond our control can lead to minor imperfections in the engraving process. This disclaimer outlines the terms governing our services.
1. Customer Responsibilities
Material Suitability
You are responsible for ensuring the material you provide is suitable for laser engraving.
We cannot guarantee the engraving quality on unsuitable materials. For reference, visit our website or Facebook page for examples of successfully engraved items.
2. Risk of Damage
Some materials are more prone to damage during engraving, particularly unique items where testing is not feasible.
While we exercise utmost care, there is a small inherent risk of damage. If damage occurs:
We may offer free re-engraving using alternative techniques or designs.
We will explore options to cover the affected area or discuss alternative solutions.
In cases where we are clearly at fault, we may replace or compensate for the item.
3. Design Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that the design provided is accurate and complete. We are not liable for engraving errors resulting from customer-supplied designs.
4. Intellectual Property
By submitting a design, you confirm you own the rights or have permission to use it. We are not liable for any intellectual property disputes that may arise.
2. Service Limitations
Material Limitations
We reserve the right to refuse to engrave materials deemed unsuitable or unsafe.
6. Design Limitations
Certain designs may be unachievable due to technical constraints or material properties. We will work with you to find a suitable solution, though a small setup fee may apply for non-ready designs or logos.
7. Colour and Finish
Due to the variability of materials and laser settings, the final engraving may differ slightly in appearance. Visit our portfolio online to see examples of our high standards.
8. Placement Accuracy
While we strive for precision, slight variations in alignment may occur due to manual placement processes and material properties.
9. Liability
We are not liable for loss, damage, or other issues arising from laser engraving, except in cases of proven negligence or misconduct on our part.
10. Acceptance
By submitting an item for laser engraving, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service.
11. Font Selection:
Browse our curated font list here: Choosing Fonts.
Then head over to Dafont.com to explore your chosen font and preview your text. You can also check character availability.
If you prefer to choose another custom font from Dafont, take a screenshot with the exact version so we can match it correctly.
If you'd like to choose a custom font from another website, please email us the link, and we’ll check if it’s safe to install.
12. Design and Sizing:
Sometimes design ideas can get miscommunicated, so if possible, please provide a drawing (either digital or on paper) with your design and size requirements.
Otherwise, we will lay out the design at our discretion to make it look good.
Please specify exact sizing and placement on the item. Otherwise, we will use our discretion if that’s what you prefer or if we don’t have any information.
We usually prefer to have the design and final approval before starting the engraving or having the item dropped off.
13. Proofs and Approval:
We do not typically provide artwork proofs unless specifically requested.
If a proof is requested, it will only be provided after the item is dropped off or payment is received.
Please respond promptly to avoid any delays, as we aim to start the engraving process soon after the design is finalised.
If we don’t hear back within a reasonable time, we’ll proceed with the original design provided.
Once the design and proof are approved, any errors in text, placement, or size will be the customer's responsibility.
Please carefully review all details before giving your final approval.
14. Payment for Customer-Supplied Items:
Payment is required once the item is complete. We’ll send photos of the finished product, and payment can be made via card, bank transfer, or cash on pick-up.
15. Item Drop-Off Information:
I’m around a fair bit, but occasionally I’m at my other office, on-site jobs, or running errands, so I’m not always able to meet you in person. However, there’s a convenient and secure dropbox just over the gate for contactless drop-off and collection.
If you’d prefer not to use the dropbox, I’m happy to arrange an appointment for drop-off. Mornings or afternoons usually work best for face-to-face.
16. What We Cannot Engrave:
There’s very little we can’t engrave! However, very large cylindrical objects or large bowls may not be suitable for engraving. If you're unsure about an item, feel free to check with us beforehand.
17. Encouraging Reviews and Social Media Tags:
We’d love your feedback! Tag us on social media or leave us a review to share your engraved items with others. Each month, we’ll select the best posted review, and the winner will receive a special prize. Your reviews help us grow and refine what we do!
For any questions or concerns, please contact us via email at adelaideengraving@gmail.com, include a note with your order, or message us on Facebook or WhatsApp.
